Ezrism

'Khármides' não soa como um nome próprio, ou melhor, pode ser uma infinidade de coisas; dentre as quais, um prurido nas pálpebras; uma erupção cutânea no céu da boca; um blend de baunilha e canela; um tipo de bala de côco; uma ave rara da Mata Atlântica; um diálogo de Platão. Quando estiveres à beira da morte, amigo, tenta decidir a que gênero de coisa pertences. Verás que é tarefa árdua. Digamos que 'Khármides' soe como uma doença mental. Se o 'Khármidismo' for uma doença mental, leitores, então durará tanto quanto a própria mente humana durar, o que é uma maneira enfraquecida de se declarar eterno. Digamos que 'Khármides', enquanto enfermidade psíquica, é materialmente eterna (para todos os efeitos, 'Khármides' dura enquanto durar a espécie humana, porquanto o homem é definido pela presença do fenômeno mental). Ora, não está em nossa alçada dizer-lhe não ser uma doença ou decidir se um homem é um homem, se é mulher; se ele é um malestar, se é um objeto! É próprio do ser humano escolher o saber e a estupidez e dedicar-se ao bem e ao mal. O erro é acreditar sermos coerentes o tempo todo... Meu ponto é apenas o seguinte: é plausível desejar a eternidade e é plausível obtê-la, se se definisse o personagem como uma doença mental.

O 'Kharmidismo', nesse sentido, é uma família de estruturas psíquicas esquizofrênicas. Enfermidade pouco conhecida e pouco divulgada, ela envolve um complexo de quatro expressões básicas, calcadas na mesma estrutura 'polymathism+solipsism': Ezrism; Quijotismo; Ulissism; Gargantuïsme.

Ezrism (Galaxismo em português)

A. Characteristic symptoms: at least one of the following

1.      Polymathism, bellettrism

2.      Hallucinations of grandeur and solipsism

3.      Disorganized speech in prose or in verse due to severe polyglotism

4.      Grossly abnormal behavior, such as catatonia

5.      Restricted affect, avolition, asociality, acritical conservantism

B. Social/occupational malfunction: For a significant portion of the time since the onset of the disturbance, one or more major areas of functioning such as work, interpersonal relations, or self-care are markedly below the level achieved prior to the onset (or when the onset is in childhood or adolescence, failure to achieve expected level of interpersonal, academic, or occupational achievement).

C. Ezration: Whole life or as long as the subject's intellectual vigour resists. Symptoms may be manifested at once, alternatively. But at least two of the above listed at a time (Criterion 'A'). Odd beliefs and singular ones, regular monologues and ordinary irritation before ignorance and before revolutionary ideologies.

D. Ezraffective and Mood Disorder exclusion: Ezraffective Disorder and Mood Disorder With Psychotic Features have been ruled out because either (1) no Major Depressive or Manic Episodes have occurred concurrently with the activephase symptoms; or (2) if mood episodes have occurred during active-phase symptoms, their total duration has been brief relative to the duration of the active and residual periods.

E. Substance/general medical condition exclusion: The disturbance is not due to the direct physiological effects of a substance (e.g., a drug of abuse, a medication) or a general medical condition, but to the writing in different languages with different verses (including blank ones).

F. Relationship to a Pervasive Developmental Ezrorder: If there is a history of Autistic Disorder or another Pervasive Developmental Disorder or other communication disorder of childhood onset, the additional diagnosis of Schizophrenia is made only if prominent delusions or hallucinations are also present for at least a month (or less if successfully treated).
G. Poetriness: "Alas, Ezra, the son of sounds of yore/ To thee, free philos of feeling and thought/ I now must turn and test my spirits/ Could my memory recall in thine mould/ what the unlearned nature hates to hide/ its sapientia and its sôphrosunê/ Mai no voldría parlar-ho amb la veu propia/ Se escrever sobre o escrever é o futuro do escrever...
